- The sixth Emperor Chin of the Hai Dynasty of Shou Lung and his court are killed in the fleet's destruction, ending the Hai Dynasty. Rourke, a foreigner piloting the emperor's ship, rescues the Emblems of Imperial Authority and returns to the Imperial City. But Rourke is killed and the Emblems disappear. The Black Cycle of Years commences in Shou Lung.[1]
- In T'u Lung, the Black Cycle is characterized by frequent invasions, both from the south and from minor lords in the north, and natural disasters, such as blights, crop failures, and the flooding of the Fenghsintzu. Order collapses, except where local feudal lords still hold sway. The Wai and Yang clans begin to rise to prominence.[1]
