- After the death of King Azoun III, Prince Salember becomes regent of Cormyr for his young nephew.[1]
- In Dambrath, Queen Ausitil passes away, but the recognized heir, Yenandra, is at sea and magically unreachable, leaving the realm without a ruler for thirteen days. Finally returning, Yenandra kills two rival cousins moving for the crown, and immediately becomes queen.[1]
- Yûlash gains its independence from Zhentil Keep, becoming technically a free city, but it remains under the thumb of the Zhents.[1]
Deaths in 1275 DR
- Azoun III, king of Cormyr, dies.[1]
- Queen Ausitil of Dambrath dies in her sleep.[1]
- dwarven weapon designer Hagnen Odestone dies in a great earthquake that shakes North Faerûn. His wife, Miraenna Odestone finishes all of Hagnen's incomplete weapons, including the enchanted heavy crossbow she named Hagnen's Folly.[2]
