- A young dwarf named Amberu Khôltar petitioned to garrison the trading camp set up 25 years ago to facilitate trade between dwarves, humans, and halflings. He was granted authority and some autonomy from the dwarves of the Great Rift and he named the growing town Durthkhôltar (literally, "Fort Khôltar"). Eventually, it became known as Khôltar.[1][2]
