Al-Bakbuk, or the Babbler, was a gibbering mouther living in the Pit of a Thousand Voices within Sarahin in 1367 DR.[note 1][1]

The Babbler was formed from the carcasses of holy slayers and saluqi greyhounds, giving it a distinct voice that was a combination of both.[1]

The Babbler fed on holy slayers who were lowered into the Pit of a Thousand Voices as punishment for their crimes against the Everlasting.[1]
