Aleratha "Rubytresses" Ilnatar was an elf woman of the city of Ylraphon in the Vast in north Faerûn in the 7th century DR.

In the early 7th century, Aleratha assisted the dwarven priest Turbaern and the human mage Beldossan the Short in enchanting over a thousand weapons forged from orcslayer metal by Master Smith Fyrfar Smokebeard over several years at the order of Deep King Tuir Stonebeard, in their mission to destroy the orc realm of Vastar. Among these was the short sword Sarghathuld in the Year of the Many Serpents, 605 DR.[1]

  • Ylraphon was conquered by orcs in −722 DR and implied to still be occupied by them at the time of Aleratha's work on the orcslayer blades. Aleratha may have come from some still-elf-held portion of Ylraphon, or lived there prior to the orc conquest. This last implies that Aleratha is over 1327 years old, an extraordinary age even for an elf, or that there was a later phase of elven occupation and orcish conquest of Ylraphon.
