Bane was an enchantment spell that sapped enemy morale and reduced their combat effectiveness.[2] A conjuration version was known by the name curse and was the reverse of bless.[11][12][13][14]

EffectsEdit

Those enemies cursed were inflicted with trepidation and doubt, lowering their morale and dulling their skill in combat.[2][11][12][13]

Bane countered and dispelled bless and vice versa.[2][11][12][13]

After Sundering, the bane and bless spells didn't counter and dispel each other but were opposites of each other.[14]

ComponentsEdit

This spell required only verbal and somatic components, and the caster's (un)holy symbol or divine focus.[2] The conjuration version required unholy water.[11][12][13] The later enchantment version used a drop of blood.[14]
