Smallwikipedialogo Wikipedia has an article about:
Heliotrope (mineral).

Bloodstone was the Realms name for the mineral heliotrope, a deep green-gray chalcedony with inclusions of red jasper.[3]

DescriptionEdit

This semi-precious stone were usually cut cabochon with beveled edges, in smooth ovals which tended to resemble drops of blood. A typical bloodstone has a base value of 50 gp.[1][2] Historically, bloodstone was also sold in bars worth twenty-five gold pieces, each with the stamp of a Damaran noble house.[4]

HistoryEdit

Bloodstones were mined throughout the Galena Mountains in places such as the Bloodstone Mines[5] primarily in Damara and supported a thriving gem trade in that region.[6]
