Blue slaadi were a type of slaad.[1]

Description

Blue slaadi had bone hooks protruding from the backs of their hands. If a humanoid was hit by one of these hooks, it could become infected with a disease known as chaos phage.[1]

If allowed to run its course, chaos phage would drain the life of the humanoid within days. If a sufficiently powerful spellcaster was killed by chaos phage, he or she was instantly transformed into a green slaad. Otherwise, the disease produced a red slaad. In either case, the creature retained all its memories. The only way to revert this transformation once it was completed was through the use of a wish spell.[1]

Blue slaadi matured from slaad tadpoles that were born from eggs laid by red slaadi in humanoids.[1]
