Boots of Elvenkind (sometimes also known as Elven boots, Elvish boots or Elven sneaking boots) are magical soft leather boots that allow the wearer to step across any surface almost silently. Their original purpose was to allow elves to travel through the forest without causing any disturbance, but they are popular amongst rogues because they are ideal for committing crime. Because they are most commonly crafted by elves, it is extremely difficult to find these boots in other sizes.[citation needed]
