Calvin Longbottle was the Regent of the Harbor of Ravens Bluff[1] from 1350 DR -- ?

(The "current year" for the people and events in Gateway to Ravens Bluff, the Living City is just before the Time of Troubles, approximately 1356 -- 1357 DR.)

Lord Calvin is 5'10" tall and weighs 175 pounds. He is ruggedly handsome, his skin is weathered and brown from years at sea and the sun has bleached his hair a light brown. He wears clothing that befits a wealthy sea captain.[1]

Calvin Longbottle treats his position as a public trust and strives to be fair in all dealings, never flaunting his wealth or using his position for advantage. He loves the sea and wants to make his harbor the best on the continent.[1]

Lord Calvin's father, Baldric was a ship's captain and later the Harbor Master of Ravens Bluff. After distinguishing himself in battles versus pirates and smugglers, Baldric was awarded a title, an annual stipend, and eventually became Regent of the Harbor. Calvin grew up on a ship and benefited from his father's vast experience. In time he became the harbor master under his father until his father's death in 1350 DR. He inherited his father's title and was promoted to Regent at the same time. He upholds the traditions of his position and has earned a reputation as a fair and efficient administrator.[1]
