Active location[]
I wasn't really sure about the categorisation of Myth Drannor but it didn't seem appropriate to put anything in the Cities category unless it is still an active city in the current year. 82.33.59.200 22:43, 28 September 2006 (UTC)

Ruins[]
Hmmm, this category has been bothering me... since we have taken the wiki away from the timeline (which is awesome, since I am playing a game set in 1261 DR)... are there really ruins anymore? Most "current" ruins are settlements back in the time of Netheril and many settlements will be ruins in "20th edition" D&D... Personally, I suggest the History section is the best place to state a location, building, or settlement is in "ruins" and not have a "RUINS" category... For example, take the Tower of Twilight... in 1385 DR, the tower vanished, but technically the tower still stood in 1356 DR when Drizzt Do'Urden visited the structure... now the tower would not be a ruin, but it is the same idea... thoughts? - Darkwynters (talk) 17:12, January 25, 2014 (UTC)
- I like the category, personally. From what I've seen, categories cover all states of a location/person/etc. throughout its known history. Not all settlements will become ruins -- and some settlements that once were ruins become inhabited once again -- and so it's pertinent to note that. It's like marking a converted cleric such as Liriel Baenre as both "Cleric of Lolth" and "Cleric of Mystra" because which one is relevant depends on when you are in her timeline. Or like like marking a person who has moved from one place to another as "Inhabitants of ABC" and "Inhabitants of DEF" when obviously they can't be living in both places at the same time. -Coswig (talk) 17:32, January 25, 2014 (UTC)
