A chakram was a small throwing disk.[2]

DescriptionEdit

A typical chakram was a metal[2] (often steel[1]) disk from five inches (13 centimeters) to a foot (30 centimeters) in radius[1] with a sharpened outer edge[1][2] and a rounded inner edge.[1] They usually weighed between one half[1] and two pounds (one kilogram).[2] They were oven covered in intricate engravings.[1]

The cost to purchase a chakram varied from one[1] to fifteen gold pieces.[2]

UsageEdit

A chakram was thrown much like a discus.[1]

Notable UsersEdit

The chakram was the favored weapon of priests of the goddess Shar. She was said to carry a magical chakram called the Disk of Night.[3][4] The deity Tyche also favored the chakram.[citation needed]
