Cult of the Eyeless
From Forgotten Realms Wiki
| | This article is about an element from the game Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn, and so some content may not be canon. Content published in computer role-playing games is considered canon unless it violates content already existing in some other Forgotten Realms publication. Furthermore, multiple endings in a game should be considered only quasi-canon since in almost all cases no one ending has been verified as canon, with exceptions. Should there be a need to discuss this further, please do so on this article's talk page. |
The Cult of the Eyeless was a beholder cult active in Athkatla in around 1369 DR. Outwardly, its blind priests preached that all the gods were fakes, and the only true one was the Unseeing Eye, whom the cult served. This helped it gain some followers among the ordinary people who were disillusioned about the gods. In actual fact, the Unseeing Eye was a blind but immensely powerful beholder, who used the cult in his search of the second half of the Rift Device, an artifact of such great destructive power that the gods themselves had hidden it to prevent anyone from using it.
