Dambrathan was a regional tongue of south Faerûn and the nation of Dambrath.[1]

SpeakersEdit

Dambrathan was spoken primarily by the people of Dambrath,[1][2] including the Arkaiuns.[3] Other places it was frequently spoken included Channath Vale, Halruaa, Luiren, Nimbral, and the Shaar.[4]

ScriptEdit

The language sometimes employed the Dethek script[3] and at other times the elven alphabet, Espruar.[1][2]

HistoryEdit

Dambrathan was a creole of Old Illuskan and Narfelli,[3] making it both an Illuski and a Low Ulutim language.[5]

ExamplesEdit

Typical Dambrathan surnames included Calaumystar, Lharaendo, Mristar, Talaudrym, and Wyndael. Common female names included Chourm, Glouris, Maeve, Hayaera, Sevaera, Xaemarra, and Zraela. Males might be named Aethelmed, Houn, Rhivaun, Umbril, Waervyn, Xaemar, or Zeltaebar.[6]
