Daurgothoth (pronounced DOUR-goh-thoth[2]), also known as Creeping Doom, is an archmage, dracolich, and one of the most powerful beings in all of Faerûn. He is consumed with two near-impossible goals: to become the most powerful creature in the world and to breed his own race of living dracoliches.

[edit] History
Once an enormous black dragon of incredible power, Daurgothoth choose to become a dracolich to further his quest for personal perfection. To do so, he convinced the mage Huulukharn, a high-ranking member of the Cult of the Dragon, that he wished to join the Cult. However, he manipulated the process from the beginning, so that when the transformation was made the Cult had no magical influence over him. He then promptly killed Huulukharn and vanished into obscurity.
[edit] Mystra's Judgment
Despite Daurgothoth's thoroughly evil nature, Mystra, goddess of magic, has done nothing to blunt his aspirations. Some of the Chosen of Mystra are beginning to suspect that the dracolich might still be alive, but have received no advice from their patron. Mystra has decided that Daurgothoth, no matter how dangerous, is an archmage dedicated to the advancement of the Art and the type of genius that magic needs to grow and evolve.
