The Death Moon Orb is a magical item of domination.

The orb is a sphere filled with a black, oily substance[1] , coils of black and purple swimming on the surface[2]. It can change size from that of an apple[3] to the size of a man's head[2] at irregular intervals, though it's size dosn't affect its power.

The Death Moon Orb can invade and control almost any mind.[2]It functions as a crystal ball[4] and can also summon fiends.[4]

Created by Larloch[1] one such orb finds itself in the possession of Szass Tam[2] (who is rumored to himself be under Larloch's control[1] ). Using it to a great extent in his war against the other Zulkirs and to bind the demon lord Eltab[1]. The orb combusts in Szass Tam's hands in the moment Mystra is murdered by Cyric[5].
Whether other exemplars of the Death Moon Orb exist is unknown.
