The caster assumed the form of an incorporeal globe of eldritch colors, 5 feet in diameter. In this form, the caster could fly at a speed of 1,500 feet per minute with perfect maneuverability, and could pass through walls and other solid objects. The mage could use any spell-like or psionic abilities he possessed, but could not cast spells or make physical attacks. The globe form was incorporeal, and the caster had no physical strength. While incorporeal, the caster could be harmed only by other incorporeal creatures, magic weapons, psionics, spells, spell-like abilities, or supernatural abilities. The caster was immune to all nonmagical attack forms. Even when hit by spells or magic weapons, there was a 50% chance the caster would not take any damage from a corporeal source (with the exception of positive energy, negative energy, force effects, or attacks made with ghost touch weapons).
