Elemental shift was a transmutation spell used by sorcerers similar to the resistance spell cast by wizards. When sorcerers used elemental shift they changed their own bodies, realigning the elemental energies that flowed through them. As a result, the sorcerers lost their resistances to certain types of energy prior to the spell's casting temporarily and replaced them with a resistance to a different kind of energy dependent upon whether they were dragon sorcerers or chaos sorcerers, an effect which could last for several minutes. The spell required much concentration on the part of the sorcerer and as a result could only be cast once per day.
