Elk were the largest members of the deer family.[3] They were favored by Uthgar and the sleeping god Ulutiu.[4]

DescriptionEdit

Elk had a good sense of smell[1] and were adept at hiding.[3]

BehaviorEdit

Elk would flee from most predators or hunters, but on occasion they would turn and defend themselves against creatures smaller than themselves.[3]

CombatEdit

When forced to fight, they would use their hooves.[1]

EcologyEdit

Elk could be found alone or with herds.[1] Besides Luruar, where they were prevalent,[1] elk were found in the forest of Cormanthor,[5] Issacortae in the Ama Basin,[6] the dragonborn kingdom of Relmaur,[7] and in the Howling Mountains.[8]

UsesEdit

Othovir, a craftsman of Triboar, was famous for creating masterful tack and harnesses from elk hide.[9]
