Elk were the largest members of the deer family.[4] They were favored by Uthgar and the sleeping god Ulutiu.[5]

Description[]

Elk had a good sense of smell[2] and were adept at hiding.[4]

Behavior[]

Elk would flee from most predators or hunters, but on occasion they would turn and defend themselves against creatures smaller than themselves.[4]

Combat[]

When forced to fight, they would use their hooves.[2]

Ecology[]

Elk could be found alone or with herds.[2] Besides Luruar, where they were prevalent,[2] elk were found in the forest of Cormanthor,[6] in the Ama Basin where they were raised by the Issacortae,[7] the dragonborn kingdom of Relmaur,[8] and in the Howling Mountains.[9]
