Fire storm was an evocation spell that permeated a area of effect with sheets of flame.[3][4][5][7][2][8]

The target area would be drench all creatures within the area in flame similar to a wall of fire causing damage but usually not for a very long time but.[3][4][5][7][2][8]

Some older versions had the ability to reverse the spell to fire quench, extinguished an equal area of magical fire, or twice the area of normal fire.[4][5][7]

This spell required vocal and somatic components.[3][4][5][7][2][8]

The arcane version of fire storm was originally common only to the Red Wizards of Thay.[6]
