Prior to the spellplague, the Forest of Mir, also known as the Great Highland Glade, was a dense forest that covered the southern highlands of Tethyr and continued north into the Marching Mountains. Ecology
Edit
The trees within the forest were far taller then any others found in the region.[2] But these pines, with their wide spacing and sparse foliage, provided little shade from the strong sunlight (which encourages a "stifling" undergrowth).[3] Small streams ran intermittently throughout the forest, emptying into the Spider Swamp.[2]
Inhabitants
Edit
Ogres, giants and goblins were known to live under the trees of Mir. Hydras, red and black dragons were uncommonly found, along with many sylvan creatures such as dryads or satyrs.[4]
Post Spellplague
Edit
The plague changed the trees within the forest into huge stone spires. The region is now known as the Spires of Mir.[5]
