Greetings & well met all!

I've got a question regarding time lines. Quick background information. Currently playing 2nd edition D&D. Our party went BACK in time to the Time of Troubles. We've added a new player/ character into our group. He's running a dwarf fighter IN the Time of Trouble time. My question is- does the Ironstar clan exist during this time? OR have they fled to the Fallen Kingdom?

According to page 13 of Dwarves Deep, "The Ironstar clan is believed to have become extinct when the Fallen Kingdom passed away ... Yet rumors persist that some few dwarves bearing the Ironstar name have a secret hold-caverns on Mintarn, perhaps, or beneath Mount Helimbrar, or even in Evereska, allied with the elves still in that misty, mysterious land somewhere in the Realms." That dwarven character could be either a rogue survivor (unlikely, given the time difference between the collapse of the empire - 207 DR, according to page 35 of Drizzt Do'Urden's Guide to the Underdark) or a descendant of one of the rumored dwarves mentioned in Dwarves Deep.

You might also try asking over at the Candlekeep forums. There are a lot of loremasters there.

Hope this helps!

For reference, the discussion at Candlekeep can be found at (link beneath this post) - interestingly, we have nothing on Ironstar at all on the wiki; something I'd like to rectify.

I put together what information I could find at Clan Ironstar and other similar articles. Perhaps there is more source material on this somewhere?
