An armar or amlar was a low-ranking member of the City Watch of Waterdeep, holding a rank equivalent to a sergeant.
They typically patrolled inside the walls of Waterdeep in groups of four, with two patrolpersons, one sergeant, and one captain.
Circa 1357 DR, amlars of the City Watch typically had the standard City Watch kit of leather and chain armor, short swords, daggers, and sturdy rods like clubs.
Circa 1372 DR, in addition to their uniform, armars were outfitted in +1 studded leather armor, with a steel light shield, and carried a masterwork short sword and club. They also possessed a potion of cure light wounds, an oil of bless weapon, and an oil of magic weapon.
