Green slaadi were unusually intelligent slaad shapechangers and spellcasters.[1]

Green slaadi appeared as the result of an infection of a humanoid spellcaster by a red slaad egg or a blue slaad's chaos phage. If the infected humanoid could cast sufficiently powerful spells, instead of a red or blue slaad, a green slaad appeared.[1]

Beside their spellcasting abilities, green slaadi were also shapechangers and could assume the form of other humanoids. They usually chose to assume the form of their former hosts.[1]

After some time, a green slaad could learn how to magically transform permanently into the stronger gray slaad. Learning this process could take decades.[1]
