The Horizon Walker is a prestige class. Those explorers who have a powerful wonderlust and curiosity to travel the Realms and planes pick up this class in order to gain an innate connection to their surroundings. As the Horizon Walker becomes more experienced, he is treated by his surroundings as part of them, giving him special abilities and senses that protect him from the dangers of incessant travel.
Little gets past the worldliness of a Horizon Walker, for little has been unexperienced by such an individual. The only thing that truly piques a Horizon Walker's interest is the truly unknown, which unfortunately becomes harder and harder to come upon to an experienced seeker of the unknown and untraveled. This knowledge aides those who would seek a Horizon Walker's wisdom, for the Horizon Walker is an unsurpassed guide and vanguard that can be the single difference between life and death in the depths of the Underdark or the demon-infested Abyss.
[edit] Abilities
- Terrain Mastery
- A Horizon Walker gains a mystical connection to the terrain he travels. The advantage of this connection manifests itself in the form of enhanced senses, coordination, and skills that aid his survivability in the particular terrain he is traveling through.
- Planar Terrain Master
- When a Horizon Walker begins traveling the planes, he begins to gain a connection with them as well. Depending on the plane, he gains resistence to the plane's type (fire, shadow, negative, etc.) and additional abilities to aid in his survivability.
