Ice storm, formerly known as Veridon's storm, was an evocation spell that blasted an area with hail.[3][8]

EffectEdit

The spell caused large hailstones to pound down over an area, dealing both impact and cold damage to creatures in their path. The storm also slowed their movement and made it harder to hear.[3]

ComponentsEdit

The spell required some drops of water and a pinch of dust.[3]

HistoryEdit

The spell was created by the arcanist Veridon of Netheril, ruler of the enclave of Lathery. He introduced it in 3396 NY (−463 DR) under the name Veridon's storm. At Lathery, continual Veridon's storms were used to chill the cold storage rooms cold and freeze fish.[9][10]

It later became known simply as ice storm.[8]

Ice storm was a common spell in Faerûn in the 1360s DR.[11]
