Iliphar Nelnueve (Lord of the Scepters[1]) was an elven warrior-mage.

AppearanceEdit

Iliphar had long silver-blond hair, constrained by a circlet with three spikes and an inset amethyst.[2] He has a scar from one temple to his chin, inflicted in combat with the dragon Thauglor.[3]

BackgroundEdit

Iliphar's powers in battle earned him the respect of the elven House Amaratharr after defeating the dragonkin of Thauglor on numerous occasions. In -205 DR, Iliphar and a small group of elves met with Thauglor and his seconds Gloriankithsanus and Mistinarperadnacles to settle their differences.[1] Iliphar challenged Thauglor to a Feint of Honor that would become known as The Passing of Power and Thauglor was defeated, causing the elves to lay claim to the Forest Country.[4]

In 26 DR, Iliphar brought his elven court to the settlement of Suzail and organised the coronation of Faerlthann Obarskyr, the first king of Cormyr. He appointed Baerauble Etharr as the advisor to the crown.[5]

The date of Iliphar's death is not known but he died some time before 900 DR.[6]

PersonalityEdit

Iliphar had a quick wit and came across as fearless.[1]

PossessionsEdit

Iliphar carried a golden staff twisted so it appears like rope. It was topped by a purple stone carved into a bird shape. He wore a sash of various wands in individual sheaths ready for combat.[2] When expecting combat, Iliphar wore a soft green cassock and a dark green cape, threaded with gold and amber.[2] The cape's hem was inset with extremely sharp crystals, so it could be flung towards opponents to cause damage. Beneath this, he wore a silvery mail body suit. Iliphar carried a thin whip-like blade.[7]
