Luthax was a war wizard of Cormyr and senior officer to Thanderahast.[1] Elmariel Emmarask was a trusted friend.[2]

AppearanceEdit

Luthax had a protruding belly under his robes. He had a furrowed face and a large nose,[3] a bald head and a well-groomed beard. His legs are underdeveloped, so he depends largely on his wings to pick up decent running speed.

BackgroundEdit

In 629 DR, Luthax conspired with Elmariel Emmarask, who had brought back a magical beast from the ruins of Netheril. They aimed to kill King Draxius Obarskyr, but their plot was foiled when Thanderahast alerted the king. Amedahast found the conspirators and detonated her magical staff, killing Elmariel, Amedahast and the others in the room.[4] It is unclear whether Luthax was also killed in this explosion, because he was seen by Thanderahast in the Battle with the Witch Lords nearly 300 years later, in 900 DR.[5]

He did die at some point as he was the fifth Ghazneth, but it remained unknown what tree he was buried under or when he died.[5]
