Lycanthropy is a disease that causes humanoids to change form, usually into a hybrid humanoid-animal state. A lycanthrope is an individual who possesses this condition. Some lycanthropes are in control of their ability to transform and others are not. Most lycanthropes have some empathy with animals with which they share their forms.

Werewolves in humanoid form have no real distinguishing markings. In wolf form, they fight as wolves in nearly all aspects. A werewolf in hybrid form usually dispenses with weapons to use its own teeth and claws, but it is capable of using one should it desire. They are not to be confused with wolfweres, who are wolves that transform into a similar humanoid-wolf hybrid form.
