Maunator, also known as Sunrest,[3] was a flying Netherese enclave that existed during the Golden Age of Netheril.[1][2]
“
The dwarves have all packed up their picks and the mines are gathering dust when a Netherese archmage reduces his floating city to falling pebbles.
”
— Amarandaris, on the end of Maunator.[4]
History[]
It was disintegrated in −1657 DR in an accident caused by poorly planned spell research.[1][2] The spell that led to the enclave's destruction was Sunrest sunshock, a significantly more powerful version of the spell meteor swarm.[3]
After its destruction, the abandoned mines of Dekanter became the premiere site of Netherese arcane research.[4]
