Morning stars, common to military grade

A morning star (also "morningstar") is a simple, one-handed melee weapon, essentially a large, spiked club.[1]

The morning star is very similar to a spiked club but with refinements. The shaft is usually made of wood and longer than a heavy mace. The head is typically round and covered in metal set with about twenty spikes radiating like a star. The biggest spike extends straight from the top of the weapon. An average morning star costs 8gp and weighs 6lbs (2.7kg).[1]

The morning star normally used one-handed and does both bludgeoning and piercing damage. It is a simple weapon that does not require any training for most character classes.

Few, if any, deities use the morning star as their favored weapon today, although the dead power Girru once did.[citation needed]
