The morning star is very similar to a spiked club but with refinements. The shaft is usually made of wood and longer than a heavy mace. The head is typically round and covered in metal set with about twenty spikes radiating like a star. The biggest spike extends straight from the top of the weapon. An average morning star costs 8gp and weighs 6lbs (2.7kg).
The morning star normally used one-handed and does both bludgeoning and piercing damage. It is a simple weapon that does not require any training for most character classes.
