Ancient Netherese PantheonEdit

Ten deities made up the Netherese pantheon:

AmaunatorEdit

Amaunator was the deity of order, law, time, and the sun.[1] Amaunator "died" from the lack of worshipers after Karsus's Folly. In reality, he was merely dormant for a short period, and re-cast himself as Lathander. In the Year of Blue Fire, he revealed himself.[2]

JannathEdit

The Grain Goddess,[3] as she was called, is now known as Chauntea. Jannath was created by Selûne and Shar.

JergalEdit

Jergal was the Lord of the Dead and the Guardian of Tombs.[4]

KozahEdit

The Storm lord,[5] later known as Talos,[as of when?] is the god of storms and destruction. Unbeknown to the Netherese, Kozah is an aspect of Gruumsh. He leads the Deities of Fury: Auril, Malar, and Umberlee. To the Netherese, Talos is still known as Kozah.

MoanderEdit

Moander was a chaotic evil god of rot and decay and an enemy of Jergal.[6]

MystrylEdit

Mystryl, the goddess of magic,[7] was reincarnated as Mystra after Karsus's Folly to save the Weave.

SelûneEdit

Known as Our Lady of Silver, Selûne was the goddess of the moon.[8] She created Jannath in the beginning with Shar, her twin sister. In the twins fighting, their essence tore through each other creating Mystryl.

SharEdit

The Mistress in the Night, Shar, was the goddess of darkness and caverns in Faerûn.[9] Her worshipers lived and worshipped in secret. Shar would stop at nothing to kill Selûne, Mystryl, and Amaunator because of what they represent: the light.

TargusEdit

The god of war[10] is now known as Garagos.

TycheEdit

Originally the goddess of luck,[11] she split into Tymora and Beshaba in the Dawn Cataclysm.

Current Netherese PantheonEdit

BeshabaEdit

Beshaba is the goddess of misfortune.

JergalEdit

The lord of the dead, Jergal was the god of death and the end of everything. As of now, he has given up that position to be the Scribe of the Dead, recording the deaths of all things.

LathanderEdit

MystraEdit

The reincarnation of Mystryl, and the successor of Mystra, Midnight has taken Mystra's place and has tended to the Weave since 1358 DR. She was assassinated in 1385 DR by Shar and Cyric causing the Spellplague.

TymoraEdit

Tymora is the goddess of good fortune.
