A newsbearer was a small device made out of glass, used by the inhabitants of Ten Towns in Icewind Dale to communicate across large distances.[1]

The glasspiece would be used to reflect sunlight in a series of signaling codes.[1]
History[]
Originally crafted in Termalaine,[1] newsbearers were used to relay crucial messages between the towns during the Battle of Icewind Dale in 1356 DR.[2][3]
