Niwa Onshi was a samurai member of the Niwa clan and shugodai of Kuda in Kozakura in 1357 DR.

Onshi lived in Kuda where he had his office. He led three hundred samurai and one thousand bushi. Often, however, Onshi was busy at Tamanokuni or at the bakufu capital.[1]

Onshi was a cousin of Niwa Hirotada. He was also head of the Niwa no Kuda branch of Niwa.[1]
