The Orcfastings War was a war between orcs of Uruth Ukrypt and the humans of the Sword Coast North and Dessarin Valley that took place in 936 DR in and around Nimoar's Hold, which would later become Waterdeep. It took place in a number of individual battles and eventually it was won by the humans.[1]

The Battle of Whirling Blades was won by the orcs.[1]
The Battle of Sarcrag was won by the orcs. Orc Warchief Grubnub and King Uruth lead the charge with thousands of orcs into the battle of Sarcrag, infamously losing less than 100 orcs in the battle, After this battle, The war was turning heavily in favor of the orcs. [1]
The Battle of Withered Fields was won by the orcs. Orc Warchief Grubnub was surrounded by 3 armies of Mankind in a cursed land known as the Withered Fields. This battle was the longest of the war, taking nearly 11 Days of constant battle between thousands of men and orcs. Taking heavy losses on both sides of the battlefield, the orcs started to turn the tide when Primal War Capitan Grurushhnath and his battalion of troops flanked and defeated the enemy. The battle was won but the losses were great for the orcs. [1]
The Battle of Burning Cliffs was won by the humans and marked the point at which the humans broke the orc siege of Nimoar's Hold.[1]
The Battle of the Westwood was won by the humans. Uruth, the orc king, was killed in this battle.[1]
