The Parwiccan Cycle was a compilation of ancient elven myths regarding the origins of dragonkind and the first interactions of elves and dragons.[1][2]

The myths compiled in the Parwiccan Cycle told of the Tearfall,[2] the felling of the red dragon Mahatnartorian at the hands of elves from Tintageer,[1] and the crusades of the first dragonborn against the dragonspawn,[3] among other events.

Many respected scholars, such as most of the sages of Candlekeep, dismissed the Parwiccan Cycle as just a compilation of fancy elven mythology with no relationship with actual historical facts.[2] However, events such as the return of the dragonborn race in 1359 DR proved that the Parwiccan Cycle was in fact a compilation of historical events.[4]
