Samarskite was a semi-precious gem used for mourning jewelry or to adorn black ceremonial dress.[3][4]
Description[]
Samarskite was a rare-earth mineral,[note 1] hard and dense, with a velvet-black metallic luster, usually cut cabochon.[5] A typical specimen had a base value of 50 gp.[1][2]
Powers[]
One or more samarskite gems, carried or worn on the body, was known to protect against undead by reducing the severity of their attacks by a small amount.[4]
Trivia[]
The lesser deity Vhaeraun was known to occasionally send samarskites to show his favour or disfavour to his followers.[6]
