The Seven Sisters are seven immortal women, all Chosen of Mystra and daughters of the goddess Mystra. They are all spellcasters born to the ranger Dornal Silverhand and his wife Elué, whom Mystra possessed to give birth to the children. After Elué died in 767 DR, Dornal abandoned his daughters and they were cared for by various foster parents.[1]
Sisters
- Anastra Syluné Silverhand[2], more commonly known as Syluné, the kindly Witch of Shadowdale, who was slain by a red dragon but remained in Faerûn as a ghostly spectral harpist.[1] She was destroyed later by the actions of the Church of Shar.[3]
- Alustriel Silverhand, the regal but unashamed Lady of Silverymoon, founder of the nation of the Silver Marches.[4]
- Dove Falconhand, whose magic is second to her skill at arms, for she is a ranger and a renowned Knight of Myth Drannor married to another Knight, Florin Falconhand.[1]
- Storm Silverhand, a famous and much-loved Harper, sorceress and Bard of Shadowdale, who, despite sometimes appearing flighty,[1] has taken it upon herself to protect and care for the people of her home dale to the best of her abilities.[5]
- Laeral Silverhand Arunsun, the radiant and good-hearted Lady of Waterdeep, who married the great wizard Khelben "Blackstaff" Arunsun and with him leads the secretive organization known as the Moonstars - who were once Harpers.[1]
- The Simbul (Alassra Silverhand was her birth name, but few know it and fewer use it) is the Witch Queen of the eastern kingdom of Aglarond, former lover of Elminster and once the most powerful sorceress in all Faerûn - her kingdom exists intact only because of the might she could bring against the nefarious Red Wizards of Thay, and their zulkirs.[6]
- Qilué Veladorn, the youngest daughter is not widely known like her sisters—when she is whispered of she is called "The Dark Sister"—and that is probably a good thing for she is a drow (born to Mystra in exceptionally odd circumstances), but is also a fair and mighty priestess of both Mystra and the good drow goddess Eilistraee. She was slain by the Lady Penitent, Halisstra, during the final power struggle between the drow goddesses Eilistraee and Lloth. [1]
History
As of the events of The Sundering, five of the chosen seven sisters of Mystra have vanished. They are presumed deceased, minus Storm and Dove, who are now much diminished in magical power and under assumed names. In Ed Greenwood's The Herald, come out of hiding Laeral and Alustriel too to assist Elminster in securing Mystra's Weave and preventing Shar's quest in seizing dominance over magic from Mystra.
