This spell produced a single missile and could only be aimed at one target within 60 yd (55 m) plus 10 yd (9.1 m) per level of the caster. The possible damage of the missile increased in proportion to the caster's level until a maximum was reached. All spells and effects that negated magic missile also affected Snilloc's major missile.
The Avatar Crisis prompted intense research into improving the magic missile spell, and this spell was the result. Snilloc's major missile was first published in "The Collected Wisdom of Snilloc" and then later published in "Volo's Guide to All Things Magical", where it became generally known to the magical community.
