Spell is a non-definite term that can mean different things depending on the context, though indefinitely it refers to a power or ability fueled by some form of magic.

Spell can mean:

• Spells, a form of powers that draw their energy from arcane magic.
• Evocations, sometimes incorrectly called "divine spells," a form of powers that draw on the primal energies of the natural world and the spirits that inhabit it.
• Prayers, also called "divine spells," a form of powers that draw on divine magic.
• Rituals, complex and expensive (both economically and mentally) abilities that are spell-like in effect.

A similar term also used is exploit, which refers to spell-like abilities used by martial classes such as rogues or rangers.
