Taerom Fuiruim is considered one of the best smiths in Faerûn and has extensive knowledge of the use of rare and exotic ores and magic in metalcrafting. He keeps over twelve apprentices in his smithy.
Taerom is a burly giant of a man standing seven feet tall and four feet wide at the shoulders, with chestnut hair and mutton-chop whiskers shot through with white. When called to fight, he uses a huge iron staff. It has been said he could kill an orc with a single blow. He is a quiet man, though he is also very respected in Beregost.
- In the Baldur's Gate computer game, the player can visit Taerom in his smithy in Beregost. If given an ankheg shell and 4,000gp, Taerom will make a powerful ankheg armor in a tenday.
