While we know that Azoun's wife was Queen Filfaeril, we don't know if the custom was to take the family name of her husband. Anyone shed any light on this?Hurtzbad 07:05, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

Her full name is "Filfaeril Selzair Obarskyr", from Cormyr: A Novel, p. 167. Fw190a8 20:13, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

Do you think we should move this to Azoun Obarskyr IV and do a redirect?Hurtzbad 09:36, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

Azoun IV's son[]

At the end of the Realms of Valor short story The Family Business, it's mentioned that Azoun IV had a son that died in 1334 DR (given that the novel was set in 1335 DR and the death occurred a year previous). I've heard that he was assassinated by Fire Knives, but I haven't been able to confirm that. Does anyone else recall any more information on the son? Preferably with something referencable! Well I feel silly. The 1334 DR article actually does mention the son, and that his name was Foril (it links to the king, which I'm going to change). Unfortunately, it's unreferenced. Cronje (talkcontribs) 16:53, January 18, 2011 (UTC)
After some concentrated googling, I found the reference I was looking for in a Dragon article. Doh! Cronje (talkcontribs) 17:08, January 18, 2011 (UTC)

One of the most powerful men on Toril?[]

I am trying to find sources for the Huzuz article. It states that Zakhara's Grand Caliph, the Emperor of Shou Lung and King Azoun IV are among the most powerful men on Toril. Okay, the two former are rulers of very powerful states, but can anyone give me a source for the political power of King Azoun? I guess Cormyr is an important state, but surely not on the level of Shou Lung or Zakhara? Is it because Azoun led the (western) alliance against the Tuigan? How did he come by this leading role? Thanks for any input. Daranios 15:22, June 8, 2012 (UTC)

In terms of temporal power, Azoun IV wouldn't be on par with the Grand Caliph. In terms of mechanics though, they are equal. The Grand Caliph is noted as a 20th level Fighter in Land of Fate and Azoun IV is a Ftr 20 in Cormyr. -hashtalk 03:03, June 9, 2012 (UTC)
Hmm, I read the sentence as meaning temporal power. So in the end I would just remove the sentence and source the rest. Daranios 09:16, June 9, 2012 (UTC)
