Storm of Zehyr[]
I believe there was a mention of Elanee in SoZ, where the player is told about "Some elven girl asking around about the Commander of the Crossroad Keep". Which makes her possibly not dead. – User:Sitamet
Age[]
Article says she's 760 years old but then later mentions she's over 100 years old. Uhh, what? – User:141.117.118.96
- Well, 760 is definitely over 100. :) The NWN2 wiki only has her as orphaned over 100 years ago, so a past author must've misinterpreted, so I've removed the "born" bit. I don't know where the age came from; I wouldn't call a 600+-year-old elf an orphan. — BadCatMan (talk) 01:04, May 3, 2018 (UTC)
- I did some digging and think I found what the editor based his "760 years old" claim on. This is from NWN2's dialog.tlk file:
My life in the Mere dates back several lifetimes... many of my ancestors lie beneath its waters.
And my ancestors were there when Merdelain gained its human name, before there were even such tiny settlements as West Harbor and Red Fallow's Watch.
[...]
No, for my father perished there in the fog, slain by orc soldiers from the mountains. It is his life that I speak of when I say "lifetimes."
On the year the swamp gained its new name, there was a great battle fought miles within its borders.
Orcs, spilling from the mountains, drove humans, dwarves, and my people into the swamps where they were surrounded - and cut down in the fog, trapped in mud where the footing of the orcs proved truer.
I was orphaned from that battle - when the first of the Circle found me, wailing in the mist, in those very ruins you traveled to outside of West Harbor.
- I think it follows that these are separate events:
- The swamp is formed by Iniarv in 615 DR.
- Elanee's ancestors move into the swamp, and give it the name "Merdelain".
- Centuries later, a rampaging orc horde herds human settlers into Merdelain, killing both them and the "native" elves. Following this, the swamp is known as the "Mere of Dead Men."
- Later on, Elanee states:
- I think it follows that these are separate events:
- This puts her at 100+ years, which is far more reasonable. I don't believe the orc invasion of Merdelain has been properly dated. --Ir'revrykal (talk) 13:40, May 3, 2018 (UTC)
