5e classes[]

Hey BadCatMan, I don't think Frulam is actually a wizard. Her stats state she uses Wisdom for her spellcasting abilities, which is typically stat used bydivine spellcasters. Additionally it also says that she prepares spells from the cleric spell list. Given this we should probably list her as a 5th level cleric instead. However I think we need to be careful in general about 5e npc's, as their stats are not quite as clear cut (Hit dice and level aren't always correlated) and their abilities tend to be ad hoc. We should probably have a discussion about how best to interpret these stats on the forum at some point.

I'll change and reference Frulam Mondath a bit for now though. --Eli the Tanner (talk) 13:27, February 13, 2015 (UTC)

I create the article, not BadCatMan, so the faulty is mine; I noticed that something are strange about her class next time I will be more carefully; unfortunately for now I know nothing about 5e rules – 93.39.207.0

Yes, I know stuff all about 5e, I just formalised what User:93.39.207.0 had tried to do. I'll stay out of any stats discussion, but advise that if 5e classes aren't specified, then we probably shouldn't try pinning them down. Just call her a divine spellcaster and move on. Or, if you don't understand the rules, you don't need to try. — BadCatMan (talk) 11:27, February 14, 2015 (UTC)
BadCat, I understand the rules and am enjoying playing 5e... as of right now, only heroes have specific classes... NPCs just have a type, such as humanoid or dragon... Personally, I think we should not "make up" classes for these characters and as you say, place divine caster or warrior-like in the actual page... thoughts? - Darkwynters (talk) 20:00, February 14, 2015 (UTC)
Sticking my nose in here, I agree we probably shouldn't try and pin down the classes, feel like all NPC's are "Monsters" having no class or any thing. But when it comes to some one like Rath Modar, Zulkir and has Intelligence as his spell casting score feels like it must be... and if where to get the class from a text reference it would be weird, like Tarhun whom is a "Warlord" in class with the book as reference :S? I think some characters (Rath Modar and a few other spellcasters) can be easily cited as xth-level wizards/clerics etc. I have found the tricky part is when looking at the stat blocks of non-spellcasters, the resemblance to any 'true' class becomes much murkier. Outside of spellcasters I don't know how accurately we can portray npc's....at the moment. Perhaps in later products they might be clearer.--Eli the Tanner (talk) 12:46, February 16, 2015 (UTC)
