- I think it's fair enough to have pages describing some basic game terms - note that NPC can also refer to non-player characters in normal Pen and Paper play, and is not reserved for CRPGs. Zerak talk 21:14, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

"He's not hurt in the game the way the main character is by enemies", what the heck does that even mean? Also, it's not very accurate to say you "cannot play as" these characters, since you can play them 99.9% the same way as you can your player character. With all the other characters who exist pre-made in such a game, you cannot play at all
Anyway, what about the way the term is always used in all the D&D manuals? It makes more sense, too, than this BG-way where "non-player character" means "someone you can play but isn't the protagonist". Ville V. Kokko 23:02, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
