No it's similar but different. The source actually says it's "an expansion of the ring of djinni summoning" but doesn't state how ... unless the difference is that this ring summons one particular genie. I don't have the sourcebook for the ring of djinni summoning, so I'm not sure what the difference is. My guess would be that this ring can also summon "Noble" genies. It sounds to me like the difference is that one can summon any kind of genie with this one, not just limited to djinn. ~ Lhynard (talk) 14:54, June 2, 2015 (UTC)

In 5th edition there is a Ring of Djinni Summoning which is basically the same as this one, only specific to Djinn. I guess it could be mentioned here as a particular type of this one, with its own specific page. Sirwhiteout (talk) 16:01, September 21, 2016 (UTC)
