Use this template to cite an article in a Dragon magazine. It then calls {{Cite book}} with the necessary options. For convenience, there are a number of existing templates for citing specific articles from Dragon in Category:Dragon citation templates. If you will be citing a specific Dragon article on numerous wiki articles, it is best to create your own and add it to this category.

The following parameters are required:

author

The name of the article author(s). Can include wikilinks.

issue

The number of the dragon issue.

The following parameters are optional:

title

The title of the article in the magazine.

pages

Page or pages within the issue that contain the specific reference, such as 6 or 6-8.

date

The date of publication of the issue in question, for example September 2004.

publisher

The publisher of the magazine. Up until Dragon #359 this was Paizo Publishing, LLC. Since then the magazine has been self-published by Wizards of the Coast online. This is automatically calculated based on the issue parameter, but can be overridden if you so desire.

url

If this magazine article is available free online, you can add the URL to it and its title will turn into a link.
