Description[]

The Drow of the Underdark is the 2nd book in the FOR series and provides detailed information on drow society, their unique magic, iconic deities, and their interactions with other races in the Underdark.

The book begins with an introduction to the drow, providing essential background information on their origins, physical traits, and alignment tendencies. It also touches on the different drow subraces, such as the noble-born and the surface-dwelling drow.

It explores the intricate social hierarchy of the drow, including their matriarchal society, noble houses, and the power struggles that define their existence. It explores the roles of males and females, the concept of Matron Mothers, and the significance of Lolth, the Spider Queen, as their primary deity.

Menzoberranzan, one of the most famous drow cities, is thoroughly detailed in this sourcebook. It includes maps, descriptions of key locations, and information on the city's politics, intrigue, and powerful noble houses.
