The Radiant Dragon by Elaine Cunningham is book four in the Cloakmaster Cycle, a six-book series for the Spelljammer campaign setting. It takes place in Realmspace—including the planet Garden and the island of Evermeet—and Winterspace.

Teldin Moore is looking for the great ship Spelljammer. A radiant dragon holds the key to commanding the great ship but needs Teldin's help to take control. Meanwhile, the elves seek his assistance in the second Unhuman War, where a group of elf-hating monsters trades with goblinoids for a secret weapon against the elven Imperial Fleet. But someone in Teldin's inner circle is pulling all parties toward battle.

Synopsis[]

Teldin Moore has stopped on Garden in Realmspace to resupply. While at a tavern, a bar fight erupts. Teldin escapes the chaos and finds himself in the company of an aperusa man and two young dracons.[2]

Notes[]

  1. The year is deduced from the statement on page 8 of the novel that the events of Beyond the Moons took place "a year earlier". The events of Into the Void, the second novel in the series, immediately follow those of Beyond the Moons, and its entire story takes place in little more than 78 days. (See pp. 168, 172, 184, and 206.) The "Presenting . . . Seven Millennia of Realms Fiction" article from Wizards of the Coast, (also published in Dragon #196,) sets Into the Void in 1361 DR, so The Radiant Dragon must then take place in 1362 DR.
