King Theris was ruler of the city-state of Mourktar up until the mid–14th century DR.

History[]
In the Year of the Prince, 1357 DR, Theris was on the verge of dying without an heir. Under the inspiration of his god Assuran, Theris announced a great tournament to choose the new king. The tournament was opened to all men and woman, both humans and half-elves.[4]
The tournament failed however, and Theris died the following year. After his death the city was ruled by the Imperceptor of Bane, Kabarrath Telthaug, who had secretly engineered the failure of the tournament.[1]
